Languages
Spanish, as an IB World Language, is the main foreign language and is taught regularly to all students from Junior Kindergarten onwards. Our teachers are native Spanish-speakers, and Spanish becomes a natural part of every day at Greybrook: we sing Spanish songs in Morning Song, school signs are bilingual in Spanish and English, and students and teachers address each other in Spanish in the hallways and on the playgrounds. |
 |
The Spanish teachers work closely with the classroom teachers and other specialists to ensure that the integration of the language is as complete and natural as possible; this is done by coordinating the Spanish lessons with the IB Units of Inquiry being studied in class, and, wherever possible, weaving Spanish vocabulary into Art class, Music, and even PE!
French and additional language options are offered as part of the after school activity programme, subject to community interest.
